so I'll ask it here in the women's forum.
Has anybody named their erg?
(I know what men name, and it isn't their erg(s).)

Sure. May cars have a name and so does my erg. Its part of the bonding process.
Little Honda Civic - Green Machine
Big Dodge van camer - Sweetie Pie
Erg - Music Machine cause my erging reward is spacing out to loud music while I do it.

This is from a previous post from Paul Flack on the old forum:
I have been calling my erg "Iron Maiden". She looks so innocent, stretched out in the middle of the floor in a suductive position. But once she is mounted, she has a personality as cold as steel. She is truely a midieval torture device reincarnated in my basement. After I am bound by my feet to the evil device, I realize that my cold damp dark basement has been transformed into a dungeon and the pain session begins.

I call mine, "The Beastie."
I kinda like that Iron Maiden comparison though--I *do* have a love/hate relationship with The Beastie.

'72 chevy pickup: The Green Dragon
'01 VW Passat: Quicksilver
I haven't named my erg. Hadn't even thought about it. I didn't start naming my cars until I met my husband and he teased me until I did. He tends to come up with very complex names for his cars eg: Osborn Hesikia Arbuckle Von Richtoffen.
whew, I just can't keep up with that!

Death Boat 2000.
That's a nod to Death Hockey 2000, the pond game my Minnesotan husband invented with his friends. It involved having one fewer pucks on the ice than players. You scored points by hitting an opponent with a puck: 3 points for a shot to the skate blade, 2 points for a shot to the leg, 1 point for a shot to anywhere else on the body. No padding.
These are the same kids who would don snowmobile suits and helmets in the summer and shoot at each other with BB guns.

Have'nt really thought about it - have named my car - its a little green lotus with a yellow strip and called Toadie
- as for the erg - if I was to name her "Minx" seems a good enough choice!!
I happen to rather like Death Boat 2000 though
