rowing while pregnant

Post by arm0110 » April 10th, 2006, 7:20 am

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and have recently noticed that my hands go numb while rowing. This is new, never had it before. I have to shake my hands out every 500 meters to get blood flowing again.

I realize that circulation changes while pregnant, and that is probably a factor. I was just wondering if any other pregnant rowers have experienced this?

I didn't row while pregnant, but this sounds like it's probably related to the increased swelling associated with pregnancy. It's the same problem that causes pregnant women to have more trouble with carpal tunnel syndrome. There's not much I'm aware of that will help except delivery, but you've got awhile to go before that!

By the way, what is a pregnant women doing on the computer at 3:20 AM? Sleep while you still can!
