We are just over halfway. How's everyone doing?
I had hoped to row my millionth meter today but I had a horrible headache yesterday and did not get a chance to row. I have 8783 m left to go! Woo Hoo.

I am packing up my family and we are escaping to a state park to hike and swim (indoor pool). It will be a wonderful three days way from work, a messy house, etc!

I will miss three days of rowing because I can't convince my hubby to pack the erg. Go figure.

Keep up the good work.

You can take your Erg with you. Buy those elastic bands of various tension with the handles (portable gym) and bring along a skateboard. Viola! A portable Erg!

I finally took the 30 seconds to re-create my ID. Maybe I'd been dragging my feet because I'd been bad and hadn't worked out for a few days. :?

I'm glad to have the forums back!

Couple days off of rowing. Stayed at my boyfriend's house for a few days, so no access to the rower. Am back on, and finally managed to get registered.....

How's everyone else doing?

Hi!

While you were rowing closer and closer to your 1st million, I was eating out and having way too much food. Yummy food, though! Everything I don't normally let myself eat (desserts, fried food, you name it). So, today was my get back on the rower day, and it felt good. Are you still interested in doing a marathon next month? If you are, I'll try one with you. I think I'd be aiming for doing one during the last few days of the challenge, rather than towards the beginning.

Anyway...I can't wait to hear that you've completed the million!

I did it!

I did it! I rowed my millionth meter!

I got home from a wonderful vacation at 5:30 PM. Did all the "Yucky" home from vacation stuff AND THEN rowed 8783m at 7:30 PM.

WOO HOO! My first meter was on 11/23/04, just a couple of days before the 2004 HC. Fortunately there was the HC because I stuck with it and got hooked. After foot surgery I found the ducks. Once I recovered I started rowing from time to time. But along came the 2005 HC, the JVTC, and now March Madness! Thanks to the challenges and my duckie friends and some RowPro rows, I made my goal!

My next major accomplishement will the the marathon row! Emilia and I have been talking about a marathon in April since the 2005 HC! Let's do it!

Thanks everyone!
Susan

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

WAY TO GO, SUSAN!!! WOO HOO!!!

You have done a lot of rowing in the past few months. I'm looking forward to trying a marathon with you. I do have a PM2+, and my husband had RowPro sort of set up at one point (briefly). I'll see if I can get him to hook a computer back up to the rower so we can do it together that way. I have no idea how any of that works though, so you'll have to explain it for me!

I had to laugh when I read about the "Yucky" home from vacation stuff. I still haven't finished unpacking our bags. The first day back, all I did was clean and rearrange the guest room (formerly my rowing room :? ), so it would be ready for my dad when he arrived that night. Then my cold came along, and here I am - more than a week later, with all that yucky stuff still to do. Blech!

It has been so quiet here since the forum was hacked. I usually don't have much to say but I thought posting might help to get the forum going again.

Today I erged my two millionth meter for the year.

March Madness has become a struggle for me. My class schedule Spring quarter allows me the time to commute on my bicycle. It is 40 mile round trip so I have been spending lots of time on the bike. Trying to squeeze those 5000 meters in has been quite challenging. I have 17 days so far-no prize yet.

Excellent work Arlene! Wow 2 millionth meter for the YEAR.

Do you have decent roads or better yet, bike paths for your commute?

Hi to all Ducks!
I was having major Forum withdraw when it was down as well as when I was on vacation at the beginning of the month. Way too many buffets at the casino hotels in Tunica, and no rower to be had in the workout room. What progress I'd made on my weight since getting my rower was quickly lost. So I am now trying to get my program back on track & up to where I was!! The weight thing used to be so easy when I was younger and now it seems to be such a battle. I am proud of one thing - I have almost rowed 1/2 million meters, so it all can't be so bad! I never thought I'd keep it up, much less go that far since 11-05. Any way, I'm glad some of the Ducks have reestablished their id on the new Forum, and I look forward to hearing how everyone else has been doing!

I too panicked when the forum was down. It is what I do while I eat my lunch! I did some surfing of the UK site to keep the tremors at a minimum.

Since we live in the same state, I am curious about how/why you chose Tunicia for your vacation? (I had to google it to find out it is probably in Mississippi.). For our vacation we went to Turkey Run State Park. I bet Tunicia was warmer!

All the meals at the inn were buffet style. I really have to focus on not trying to “eat my moneys worth” at a buffet. Big plates, eyes bigger than my stomach etc. And isn’t there that saying “Take all you want, Eat/Want all you take?” Which is worse? To waste food or to put food on my waist? Sigh. I hear you. Solution? Keep erging!

YAY Fish and Wood Duck!!

Congrats to you, Fish, for that 2 million mark!

And you too, Susan--I know you've worked hard, and worked hard to be able to work hard at rowing! Feels good to hit that million mark though, hey? What are you going to get from C2 for your prize?

I've got a bit over 400,000 meters left to go for my second million, so I better get busy.

And hey, Emilia! Glad you're back as well. I've been busy with lots of other stuff in my life, so I haven't been on the forums as much in the last couple of months.

And I miss the motivation I get from y'all--I haven't rowed as much in the last couple of months, either.

Sunny skies so far today. I am going to ride today to pick up my textbook after I do my 5K.

To answer your question Susan, my commute is on hilly back roads and a highway.

Hi to everyone & so glad the Ducks are quacking in again on the new Forum!

Susan:
We ended up at Tunica because my Dearly Beloved (husband) didn't want to go to a) Daytona Beach for Bike Week b) anywhere on the FL panhandle or c) Vegas! Tunica is 15 miles south of Memphis, and only about 6 hours from home, so an easy drive & he got to gamble while I R&R-ed & ate TOO much!! I did get some walking in, but no rower in the workout room. Turkey Run is not too far from my sister-in-law's - I do think we were a little warmer at Tunica! I can't wait until the weather breaks here so I can get back to my walk/run program as well as erg too in the evenings. Where is SPRING??!!

Otherwise, I'm ready for the weekend & time to futz around the house while he watches all the ball games!

How's everybody doing?

I am preparing for my first marathon. So I have been getting in 2 hour rows a day this week. My bum is really sore!

Keep up the good work! March is almost over.
