New Duck here

Post by hunisu » March 29th, 2006, 9:38 pm

hello!

I thought I'd join up and use this as a way to keep my motivation going.

I started rowing a few days before my birthday this year & am absolutely floored at how well it's going. I was a member of the competitive swimming scene for 16 years, then got married, had kids and got lazy. I've tried different forms of exercise but haven't been able to keep going. Having the C2 at home has been a blessing in disguise.

I love it because my kids (4 & 6) are motivated to do it too & always want their turns when mom is done. I'm amazed that I'm having such an easy time getting up in the morning & rowing. It's just become a part of my daily routine in a little under 2 weeks.

Hope y'all don't mind me just jumping in with both feet!

Huni

Welcome, Huni! :)

My boys are 9, 8, and 5, and they like erging, too. They especially like the fish game. Have you found out about that? (It's available for download somewhere on the C2 site.)

I hadn't heard of that! I'm sure they'd love it. Thanks for mentioning it!

Download the fish game from here: http://www.concept2.com/05/rower/servic ... wnload.asp

Take a look at: http://www.concept2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8155 - get your kids to row for one minute and add their names to the league table.

Welcome Huni!

Glad you jumped in! My daughter is 6 and also rows after me. "Are you done YET"

After the novelty wore off, I started recording my daughters meters on a chart. She completed the 6 and under distance challenge (5,000 meters) before I finished my million meters! :D

Yep, my daughter is half way to her "zoo ticket"

Isn't that one going to be hard to explain when a "certificate" comes instead! hehe.

Oh well, might take her to the zoo anyway as an additional reward.
