Summer Training
Hi guys! I'm a 15-year-old female and I am looking for advice about summer training. It is my second season of rowing and I am 5 9" and 130 lbs, my 2k is 7:48 but I've only ever done 1, my goal is to row in college and crush it next season! I don't know whether to train to build up my anaerobic base of to continue training by doing alternating sprint and long distance days. Anyway, let me know what you think! Thanks!
Re: Summer Training
When sculling it's always best to follow your coaches' instructions; failing that, endurance can't do you much harm. Take it easy, you have at least ten years of boats and water coming: a nice long relaxed style that moves the boat fast without too much hard work will always come in handy, whichever seat you're in.

Only when you races coming you should worry about your anaerobic work, which reacts quickly to training and plateau s also quickly. Longer sessions and building a strong stroke should be number one.elizabeththerower wrote:Hi guys! I'm a 15-year-old female and I am looking for advice about summer training.
