Mud Season Madness

Post by dykebert » March 3rd, 2018, 2:36 pm

Hey folks,
I've decided to go for the 10K a day for 25 days. I've commited to 10K a day for my first rotation at any rate.
My rotation will be:
6 days on; 1 day off
5 days on; 2 days off

My 10 will be split between 2 sessions a day.
Morning will be 4 - 6K depending on if I get up when my alarm first goes off or I stay in bed for a bit. :D and if I"m on a roll or struggling)
Evening will be the remainder.

2 days down, and 6K on the morning row this morning.

I've recorded probably 30 hours of the Olympics. Since there's no football I'm watching them as I row.

I backed out of the 15 hour January challenge, but am going for 25 hours in March (10K = 1hr at my pace) :D

Of course the fact that the new weight loss challenge at work ends on March 27 may have been a contributing factor to my decision. B)

Thanks to those of you who post on the February Follies thread. Been busy this past week and just saw the posts.

Yesterday was rest day, and today was the start of the second half of my rotation (5 days on)

I decided that since I was coming off a rest day and it is the World Sprint competition, I'd try a 1K after I'd done 4K as a warm up.

I managed a 2:21.5 pace which is flying for me! (normal pace is around 3:00).

Pretty proud that I'm staying on track for the 10K challenge, and that I did a decent 1K!

How is everyone else doing?

Hello there Sharky and Sally. :)

Sharky, for all your sterling efforts, especially the 1k, that should read, “ proud “ with a capital P. Great going kid. B)

Sally, I am pleased to see that you have also joined Free Spirits and hope that time wise, you are managing to keep to your rowing plan without too much difficulty.

I’m still on track and … enjoying myself. :o

A busy day today, I’ll have to split my 10k into a morning and afternoon session.

I need to catch up with the Free Spirits’ Mud Season Thread, so I’ll post a more comprehensive report on there.

‘ Mucho applaudoes ‘ to you both and to mickyduck, DavidA and everyone else taking part in the challenge. To quote David, " Woo Hoo! "

Jill :)

Hey folks,
How is everyone doing?

Saturday ended up being a rest day due to travel.

My tally to date is 16 days of 10K, which leaves me with 9 days to go and 11 days left in March! I might make this!

It's looking good for you.
I am also still in the mix. This is always a tricky challenge for me. There are only 26 days this March I am allowed to row, so I have don't have much leeway. I have 17 days of 10 km as of last night.

Getting close to the finish line!

I've passed the 20 day mark and will just make the 25 (assuming nothing goes terribly awry)

I will admit that Saturday (with 7 days to go) I just about threw in the towel and called it quits.

Much respect to all those still in the mix!

Whoa! We do not want to hear that sort of defeatist talk! At this stage in the challenge, unless they have a really, really good excuse, then quitters will be made to walk the plank. :o

Sharky, I must go and have some supper, then I'll catch up on the FS Mud Season Challenge thread.

In the meantime everyone, keep going, keep rowing. B)
