Pregnancy and learning to row

Post by lyda » June 3rd, 2010, 5:51 pm

Any thoughts and advice gratefully appreciated. I have just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant but am signed onto a learn to row class. We have not been out on the water yet just some erg-ing and dockside stuff.

I am fit but new to rowing and am worried about lower back issues and impacts from catching a crab, I am booked to see a GP but not before I go out on the water next week. Any advice and thoughts much needed!

At only 4 weeks I can't think of any complications. Especially if you are not at the competitive level, there should be no issues with your pregnancy and learning to row. Once you hit 4-5 months, I'd definitely reconsider and keep your GP or OB/GYN informed. Until then, HAPPY ROWING. And make sure the little one learns to row too.
