Well, how did everyone do with their January resolutions? Are you going to change your plan for February, or continue with January plans?
I ended up taking a week off in late January. The first part of the week I was under the weather, and the second half was more lazy. As a result, I didn't make 100K for the month, and I've slipped well off my goal of averaging 3,000m/day for the season.
I've also decided that I need to do more of other sorts of exercise, but mid-winter with 2+ feet (seriously!) of snow on the ground is a bad time to take up jogging. I'd like to do 1 or 2 days of other exercise and 3 or 4 days of erging/wk. I still think I can get to 1 million for the season.
In the meantime, I need to get healthy. I had a fever for about 24 hrs and now am left with a serious runny nose.
Let's keep moving, Ducks both old and new!

Sorry to hear you are ill. Yucky.
The first two weeks of January were tough at work and I only rowed on the weekend. I did get into a regular routine of rowing Wed-Friday at 5:45 AM and at least once on the weekend.
I too would like to add something. Perhaps weights?
I maintained my weight at 10lb over and was unable or unwilling to make it budge.
For February, I intend to get serious about correct eating and very cautious about "extras" because I want to lose 15 pounds before St. Patrick's day. So far 2 have gone.
I think water aerobics is the second best activity ever. Its advantage over erging is that you go the gym wearing your work clothes, then you exercise in a bathing suit (ok that isn't the highlight but you are under water), then you put back on your work clothes. No sweaty erg clothes, no headband etc. PLUS it is a great workout with little to no impact!
Let me know what you find. I'll let you know if I get some weights.

February & March & April et al Resolutions
I have been getting to grips with my machine, working out what everything means and climbing very slowly up the pecking order on the ducks. I'm now reasonably comfortable with my technique and am starting a 16 weeks weight loss plan downloaded from the site tomorrow. At present I am 70 kg and plan to drop 10kg.
So why did I buy a professional waffle maker last week? Because in the UK they don't make them like I remember as a child with the good deep holes for butter and syrup. And somehow I shall integrate this into my calorie allowance of 1330 per day.....somehow.....
Anyway I stopped smoking, I am allowed waffles, and if there is any justice in the world it shouldn't all go onto my waistline.....not fair.
So with the money I save by not smoking I can afford a rowing machine in order to lose the weight gained by not smoking - and it goes round and round.

Well, I'm feeling better, but I keep finding excuses not to get back on the erg. Sigh...
Susan - water aerobics is great exercise.
Carol - you can enjoy waffles now and then if you're careful. Try them with a little jam or a dusting of powdered sugar instead of loaded w/butter and maple syrup.
Sounds like a good plan, Queen and welcome.

Resolutions
I did great in Jan completing 200,726 meters. I'm over 800,000 on my way to the first million. I've eased up a bit on the rowing since the end of Jan and have been cycling, lifting weights 2X/week and also playing some tennis. The weather is getting nice, buds on the trees, sunshine. I am, however, looking forward to the March challenge. Row ON!!!
