Hey - my first time on this forum but probably not the last. I noticed (since I'm racing in it and checked) that there are 29 women racing in the 50-54 hywt. age group.
Yahoo and very exciting, by far the largest group ever in this category!
I remember watching from the stands in 1986 and there were just 3 master's women total. That was just 3 Master's women over 30! I told myself I would do it every year after that - I've missed 4 or so.
It's wonderful and encouraging that so many women are doing this.

Go Vet women
I think many of us learned to row later in life and are thrilled with the new challenges that rowing brings.
I will be watching my adult son at the USA Indoor Track Meet on Sat. and he will watch me at the Crash-B's on Sun.
I call this reverse genetics, he is an athlete, so I must be!
Go 50-54's!

That is so cool to have so many veteran women. I had hopes of getting to Boston and trained...(I did race in Cincinnati last month at the satellite races). But, being 52 puts me in the midst of the sandwich-generation's issues. I've spent the last few weeks caring for a hospitalized parent out of town....hence training suffered and I didn't book a plane ticket.
Good luck to all!
See you next year!
