Random bits of information

Post by mischa » February 17th, 2007, 12:36 am

My biology teacher enjoys telling us random bits of information.

Yesterday we learned what a myriameter is. It's 10,000 meters.

Now we have a new word for our 10ks!
It is hard enough at any time being shut up in the dark with nothing to do; but the prospect of being a human sacrifice at the end of it just made the whole situation incomparably worse.

We now have an ancient, old, disused, deprecated word for 10K.

Sorry for posting in the womens section, but this was very interesting. I cheeked out a little more about the topic, found a carton of a runner with a goal for 10.000m here.
Another nice site is this.

The Swedes might object to your message.

I have no objections to it , but then I share some of the characteristics of the word.
