Helloooooooo all

Post by IMready2row » April 15th, 2006, 3:48 pm

Hello to all you rowers out there. I would like to introduce myself. I am Maria and I am from Fredericksburg, PA. I will be getting my brand new C2 next week! I am so excited I could scream! I haven't rowed for about 3 years now, but I am ready to get going again.

I've been married for 15 years and have two awesome kids; Sarah, 12 and Paul, 8. I coach my daughter's fastpitch softball team and soccer. My son plays soccer, baseball and he wrestles. The three of us are all "heavy weights" and I am eager to get the C2 into our home. I know my kids will love it. My husband is a hard working golf course superintendent that is in awesome shape, go figure.

Anyway, I have been doing WW, flex plan, since Feb. 2006. I have lost 15 pounds, going from 263 to 248. I feel great but have about 60 more to lose. I know I can reach my goals with the C2 and my online rowing buddies.

Well, I've rambled on enough. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you :D !

Welcome Maria! Congratulations on getting your very own rowing machine soon! And way to go, losing 15 pounds is awesome!! If you really want some interactive fun, you'll have to check out RowPro too. It is software that allows you to row online with other rowers. We've got a good group of regulars who get together online to do workouts together. Makes the time just fly by!

Welcome from another heavyweight! :)

My whole family loves our C2, the kids (4 & 6) bug me constantly when I'm rowing for their turns. My daughter just finished the 5,000 M challenge.

Welcome again!

Welcome! We're always glad to see new faces. One word of advice - the weight loss may slow as you build muscle. To avoid discouragement, take your measurements before you start. Many people see progress in measurements even when there isn't any on the scale.

So much fun meeting new people! I know about the muscle vs. inches vs. weight loss. I was a competitive swimmer in my younger days and muscle does weigh more than fat and makes you look so much better! I won't get discouraged. I will be so happy to be getting healthier and stronger, I can't weight

I am hoping my daughter will enjoy the rowing as well and learn that big, healthy girls are also beautiful! What I mean by "big" is that she is 12 years old and 5'5" tall. And my son who is 8 is 4'6" tall. I am onlyl 5'7" but I have tall relatives. Soon I will be the runt of the family

Has anyone used the beginners work outs that are listed on the main site? I thought that would be a good place to start to get back into it.
