Yes, we struggled with the permissions. But it's now tested and working.Sakly wrote: ↑October 24th, 2024, 12:31 pmSame was for me, but now working.Tsnor wrote: ↑October 24th, 2024, 12:15 pmMaybe a bit more setup required, or some server needs to recycle for me to see it.Citroen wrote: ↑October 24th, 2024, 8:11 am
Paul H has set-up https://c2forum.com/viewforum.php?f=48 for the StrengthErg folks.
You do not have the required permissions to view or read topics within this forum.
Probably would make sense to shift the existing strength erg threads to this section.

Re: New Concept2 Machine Teaser – Reveal Tomorrow?
I took your expressed enthusiasm at face value. Why wouldn't I? A reader of your post would interpret it as sarcasm only if you had criticised the StrengthErg separately - and I can't find anywhere that you have.

Echoing Tsnor’s comment, thank you Citroen and Paul H for maintaining the forum.
FYI it looks like the BikeErg forum permissions have been restricted too. (I might be buying one soon.)

Now I face this issue in the bike erg subforum, which was working fine before

Re: New Concept2 Machine Teaser – Reveal Tomorrow?
Hey! First post. Yes. I'm excited and I will be getting one. I'm 41 and a lifelong cardio-exclusive person (soccer + distance running until my early thirties, indoor bike and erg since then). I know that I need to start incorporating strength work in a real and consistent way, but (a) I'm not joining a gym and (b) I can't find any real or enduring satisfaction from the bodyweight or KB stuff that I've been forcing myself to do the past few years. Maybe because I so deeply associate a *good workout with a cardio experience? It's just engrained for me.Slidewinder wrote: ↑October 23rd, 2024, 12:11 pmLet's hear from others. Are you excited about the StrengthErg? No wishy-washy, "I think it will appeal to a certain...etc."
Are you excited about the StrengthErg?
I fell down the "oh wow eccentric vs concentric" rabbit hole last night while reading the handwringing early appraisals, but woke this morning with a certain clarity: I'm not doing this kind of work as it is, and if kettlebells didn't inspire me a rack and weights sure aren't going to either. I am certain that there are "better" tools out there to build strength - but I have a suspicion that this is the one I might actually use. And if it's a gateway and I upgrade in a year ... fantastic. Gateway money well spent IMO.
Re: New Concept2 Machine Teaser – Reveal Tomorrow?
CKCK: I also was cardio-only for most of my life. But the evidence for strength training is clear, so I started. I do dips and pull-ups at home; sometimes other stuff. But I don't particularly enjoy it.
For me, the attraction of the C2 is that you can do 100% of max force without having to predict what that might be, and risk injury if you undertake too much.
I suppose you can still injure yourself, but nothing like uncontrolled failure with a weight.
At the same time you can measure precisely what you've done. That -- measurement -- has always been an attraction of C2 equipment. Cardio without calibrated measurement just doesn't do it for me. That's why my elliptical is basically a coat rack ... it shows numbers but they don't mean anything.

Yup. Agreed on all counts here.gvcormac wrote: ↑January 14th, 2025, 1:02 pmFor me, the attraction of the C2 is that you can do 100% of max force without having to predict what that might be, and risk injury if you undertake too much.
