2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
I am a blind (PR3 (VI)) athlete, and I’m interested in competing in the 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships. Are there any other adaptive rower planning to participate in this event.

Re: 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
Bill,
I have been reading about this event, and I'm confused about how to qualify for the 'Virtual' event. There is one statement on the World Rowing website about a "Maximum of 2" rowers per country may move to the finals. I can't tell if that applies to virtual entries on privately owned machines. It may mean 2 rowers per category???
The Canadian Indoor rowing organization is hosting the qualifier. Reads as if it must be done in real time during the 'event'. Register before February 1st 11:59AM EST. http://www.cdnindoorrowing.org/register.html There is an email for HELP with entries, "entries@cdnindoorrowing.org" Maybe they can give more substantive answers than my confused research.
If you get in... Kick @$$ and take names!

Kevin, I’ve been trying to get answers since December with no luck. Hopefully someone on the forum have answers or can provide a contact. Time is running out.

Re: 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
I have ‘half an answer’ but I agree it is not clear.
My understanding is there are the five continental qualifying competitions. For the open races the top two placed rowers qualify. For the other races the winner of each of the five continental races qualifies plus the five fastest other rowers - with the limit of two per country.
I think there is another route by which you can pay to enter a qualifying time and if it is faster than another open qualifier then you ‘bump’ them off, I’m sure I read that somewhere but I can’t find it again on the site.

Re: 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
Thank you Tony for your response...After reading the information from the 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships COMPETITOR INFORMATION GUIDE ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lp_ ... obilebasic ) page, I’m still confused. Based on C2 current Rankings, my 2k time is ranked #1 in my category. It would a fare if I’m not included in this competition because of lack of information.

Re: 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
Looks like for your group you have to qualify either by your time in a qualifying continental race or by applying for an open qualifying time route. That time has to be set in the qualifying period - so if your PB was set outside that it definitely wouldn’t count. I think there’s only the Americas qualifier to go - at the Canadian Championships, and qualification closes on 7th Feb.BillyRayDavis wrote: ↑January 24th, 2021, 4:45 pmThank you Tony for your response...After reading the information from the 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships COMPETITOR INFORMATION GUIDE ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lp_ ... obilebasic ) page, I’m still confused. Re: 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
New World Record for 2k piece for Bill Davis, M, 62yo, PR3(VI), 7:44.6.
Today I decided to video record my 2k to establish a benchmark and to determine where I stand in my category. I conclude that I have a good shot to place in the top 3 at the 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.

Re: 2021 World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships.
Well, I guess it was not met to be. Last week I tried to register for the qualifier at the Canadian Championships, and again I ran into more issues. Perhaps I may try again in a future event.
