Couch to Consistency Training Plan question

Newbie here,

The first workout says to do the following:

"Note that the PM5 starts automatically, and time starts running in the top left. Watch the time, and do the following:
Workout: 1 min easy/1 min rest/2 min easy/1 min rest/3 min easy/1 min rest/2 min easy/1 min rest/1 min easy."

When I did this the timer stops when I take a rest, so there is no time to watch to know when the rest period is done. Is there a way to keep the timer running during the rest period?

Thanks

Hi Andrew, the PM5 lets you program intervals to do exactly that. 'Just bike' won't give you this opportunity.
Switch on the PM5 by pressing any button, the select new training, variable intervals and put in your working and rest times as desired.

Or, don't actually stop during the rests, just keep slowly turning over the pedals to keep the monitor running. The "easy" intervals will be a little harder than the "rest" periods. As you get more fit, crank up the "easy" intervals, but keep the monitor running during the rests.

Learn how to program the monitor as Sakly suggests to get different and varying pieces.

Good luck with your new BikeErg, I enjoy mine!
