Bike newb and want to update the pedals and/or shoes

Bike Erg takes standard 9/16 inch bike pedals. There are any number of "clipless" (i.e. with clips) designs with matching shoes.

Personally, I just use toe clips, which are available from Concept 2. They were $5 last time I looked on the Concept 2 site, but I paid $10 on Amazon :(

This was posted a few days ago. It's what I did and it works great - I use the clips with cycling shoes, my wife uses the flat sides.

I tried the C2 toe clips, but they were too loose and my foot was not in the right position on the pedal.
