I'd also be interested to hear what C2 says. Six bikes all exhibiting the same behavior is a little odd.

would you share with us, what was the exact problem and then the solution?

I know this thread is old but I just got my bike erg two days ago and thought I had a similar problem. The issue was that the right crank arm was not tightened enough.
