Bikeerg assembly - worth using medium threadlocker on the fasteners?

Post by Kimura_54321 » December 2nd, 2020, 3:25 am

Hi, had a quick search but couldn’t find anything and my bikeerg should be arriving today.

Is it worth putting a dab of loctite 248 medium duty threadlocker on the fasteners?

All the screws on my road bikes get a dab of threadlocker or antiseize on them, especially if dissimilar materials or subject to sweat/salt spray/vibration.

Thanks

Would you use Loctite 248 on a road bike?

Contact Concept2 and ask them.

Hi, yes I would. It’s the medium strength stick one that I use for bits like bottle bosses, stem and pannier rack bolts. Basically anything that might vibrate loose but I want to remove easily using hand tools.

Good shout on contacting them though.
