New BikeErg: Questions!

Post by Mat » January 24th, 2019, 4:21 am

Hi together!

I have two questions about my new BikeErg:

1. I'm transmitting my workouts with ErgData to my LogBook. How can I get my workouts to be 'Verified'? When rowing and using ErgData all my workouts automatically are 'verified'. But with my BikeErg all workouts are logged with 'Verified: No'.

2. The BikeErg has been calibrated before the workout. But there are strange values in my downloaded csv file:

Number Time (seconds) Distance (meters) Pace (seconds) Watts Cal/Hr Stroke Rate Heart Rate
1 1,2 1,8 184467440737095200,0 0 300 0 83
2 5,8 8,8 184467440737095200,0 0 300 0 83
3 9,5 15,6 268,2 18 362 17 83
4 12,6 22,4 268,2 18 362 17 83
5 16,2 30,7 227,6 30 402 17 83
6 19,8 39,2 219 33 415 18 83
7 23,4 47,9 209,7 38 430 18 83
8 26,5 55,4 209,7 38 430 18 80
9 30,1 64,3 205,6 40 438 17 83
10 33,2 72,1 202,9 42 444 17 85
...

The values for 'Pace (seconds)' are extremely high (184467440737095200,0) when starting to ride. As this is the value for Pace/1000m it might be normal when pedaling very slowly. Anybody else checked this already in his workout csv files?

(This is a German Log file where ',' are used instead of '.') Sorry :-)

PM5 Software Version is 323.

Thank You for any hints and replies.

When you key in a ranking distance / time it'll ask you to 'pedal to calibrate'. Assuming you've done that, then you'll need to input the 16 digit verification code (found on the PM5 memory screen) into the C2 logbook in order for it to show as verified.

Tank You. I'll try this. But why isn't a BikeErg workout automatically verified? The Rower workouts I sync with ErgData or the C2 Utility are automatically verified. And the Rower workouts don't have to be rankable. All are verfied... :?:

You would only need to verify a ranking distance / time anyway, not normal workouts. I think it’s to do with needing to ‘pedal to calibrate’ right before you begin a ranking distance or time if you’re intending on inputting it manually.

Sounds as if you can use ErgData to bypass this process (?) although sometimes the bike calibration goes out of sync (hence needing to pedal to calibrate) so you could get a workout verified through ED which isn’t fully legit. Pretty sure there are at least a few cases of this in the current rankings.
