Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
Did a 60 minute workout tonight for the new Concept2 ranking season.
Managed to beat my previous PB by 180ish metres - a total of 33,803 metres which is about 290 watts or 1.45.4 pace..
I put a lot of credit for this down to doing races and workouts on Zwift on the bikeerg..

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
Well done zij, good pacing as well.
There seems to be a lot of people who can do an hour plus at 1.45ish pace and lower.
I reckon the zwift must give you something to aim at and keep interest.
I don't go much over 20 mins when training, but it seems once the fitness kicks in its possible to hold a very respectable pace for ages.

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
Hi guys ,speaking about watts how do you think the watts on the Concept2 Bikeerg compare to wattmeter on a professional bike that is used in one of the grand tours ?
For example I know that top riders like Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard can hold 450+ watts for nearly 1 hour (which for them is more than 7 watts per kg bodyweight) on one of the most famous and long climbs of the Tour De France or Giro d'Italia. Was just wondering if the watts on the Concept2 Bikeerg "are the same" as the watts you can produce on a road bike?

There are lots of different brands of power meters for road bikes, so they won't all read exactly the same.Martin92 wrote: ↑October 12th, 2022, 5:49 amHi guys ,speaking about watts how do you think the watts on the Concept2 Bikeerg compare to wattmeter on a professional bike that is used in one of the grand tours ?

I've read many accounts from people who use BikeErg indoors and have a power meter on their outdoor bike, that they also use on an indoor set up. BikeErg reads low compared to a lot of watt/power meters on outdoor bikes. Loads say that their outdoor meters give slightly more generous readings for the same effort. Rough figures are 5-8% higher for the watt/power meters than the BikeErg. I've heard as much as 15% in some cases. I've also heard there being zero difference. So, yeah, it depends on what actual meter you're comparing the BikeErg to?!
Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
Thanks for the reply,Casey. I was not aware that there are so many different powermeter brands.
Today I did 2nd session on the Bikerrg in my life.
Went for 10k with the hope to be under 18:30 but went out way too fast and it was a struggle.
10k , 1:53.5 ,18:55.3 , 100 DF , first 2k at 1:49.5..
With a proper start (negative split) and a bit more sessions I think I can drop below 18:30 for 1 month.

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.
A new PB for me today whilst doing a 125km workout on the Bikeerg.
A total time of 3h 57m 25s at 236w with average heart rate of 133... I passed 100km in about 3h 10m 5s which would have given me a PB for that distance alone and was able to up the watts a bit for the last hour..
In hindsight I could have gone a bit harder from the start - but with that kind of distance fuelling and not hitting the wall is harder to balance and until you get into it, it is difficult to know what kind of day/workout it is going to be.

Congratulations! That's a fantastic power output to heart rate ratio!zij wrote: ↑November 28th, 2022, 6:45 amA new PB for me today whilst doing a 125km workout on the Bikeerg.
