Love my BikeErg

Post by forza » January 19th, 2022, 11:10 pm

Finally purchased the BikeErg several months ago after spending an enormous amount of time researching exercise bikes and wanted to share some thoughts.

I discovered that magnetic resistance was being highly touted in exercise bikes and that it was better than friction resistance because of no maintenance and better ability to measure resistance.

There were a couple of other bikes with magnetic resistance that were highly rated and the same price as the C2 that I was giving strong consideration to: the Schwinn IC4 and the Sole SB900, both solid companies with good reputations and both with very good reviews from reviewers and customers.

However, while most customer reviews were very good there were still a good amount of complaints about various defects and maintenance issues and less than optimal customer service. I then learned about the superior customer customer service C2 provided, and their track record of customers having their products for MANY years with no maintenance problems, and also discovered that it was almost impossible to find a negative customer review anywhere--in fact when the BikeErg was sold on Amazon it had a 93% 5 star rating which was higher than ANY product I have ever seen.

I did have some reservation though and it mostly concerned the resistance because I liked to pedal in short intervals with resistance cranked high and I learned the C2 resistance didn't work that way and feared I wouldn't be able to work my leg muscles as hard. I was wrong. I recently had the opportunity to test the Schwinn IC4 at a store and discovered that I could pedal through at max resistance/max effort longer than I could on a max effort sprint with damper on 10 on the C2.

I also saw a couple of reviewers say the resistance levels of the IC4 and Sole SB 900 were nearly identical and that some very strong riders might find it insufficient. I also feel more stimulation of my leg muscles after a max effort/max drag BikeErg sprint than I did on the Schwinn with max effort at max resistance.

Overall the Schwinn seemed sturdy and good quality but although it has the same weight capacity and is heavier in weight it did not feel like the same quality and sturdiness of the C2. I also did not like how the pedals keep flying with momentum when you try to stop. I have seen youtube comments and customer reviews from BikeErg owners that said they preferred it over the far more expensive Kieser M3i, that they would have paid MORE for their C2 then they did for their Wattbike Pro--which is also a lot more expensive, another said it put his $1,500.00 Lemond bike to shame, another said he has had at least 15 spin bikes and the C2 was by far the best, I could go on.

When comparing the BikeErg to the magnetic resistance bikes of the same price I discovered the resistance of the C2 to be superior, that the C2 was the only bike in that price range that was COMMERCIAL GRADE!, C2 provided vastly superior customer service and had a vastly superior reputation for durability and low maintenance, vastly superior monitor, better Q-factor.

Wow did I make the right decision! Thanks C2 for the job you do.
