Kinomap query

Hi, I'm new to C2 biking and am interested in using Kinomap. I realise the BikeErg won't change resistance automatically, so what do I do when Kinomap says to change to, say, 16% ? Is this approximate to altering the damper to between 1 and 2 or is there something more to it ?

What is the position when using Zwift ?

Since the resistance won't change, you will slow down in Kinomap because you need more watts to maintain your speed at a higher gradient.
