Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
Why is my BikeErg workout listed in my Logbook as "not verified" when it was entered by ErgData?

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
Your post prompted me to review my log and my BikeErg entries are also not verified whereas my RowingErg entries are verified. I am using ErgData for both.CharleCarroll wrote: ↑September 15th, 2020, 10:16 pmWhy is my BikeErg workout listed in my Logbook as "not verified" when it was entered by ErgData?

Moments ago I talked to Megan at Concept2 Support. Megan speculated that the "not verified" might be attributed to the type of data entry. She wondered if only Ranked Workouts get a Verification Code. The workout in question was a Just Ride workout, slightly longer than 30 mins, and sure enough there was no Verification Code in the upper right hand corner. In a few minutes I will do a Ranked Workout to test Megan's hypothesis.

I rowed a 666 meter segment (don't ask me why) with ErgData and my C2 online log shows "verified". This is certainly not a ranked workout.

I was about to reply and say that Just Rides won't show as verified, but looking at my logbook I spotted a verified Just Ride from 2 rides ago. But the bulk seem to be not verified. Maybe that one was an anomaly.CharleCarroll wrote: ↑September 16th, 2020, 2:43 pmMoments ago I talked to Megan at Concept2 Support. When you do a ranking piece the BikeErg monitor will ask you to check calibration, and you need to go through that process if you want a ranking piece to be verified. Given that I'm not knocking on the top rankings' door, I normally don't bother to do it every time.
On the rower, it seems that all my ErgData pieces are verified regardless of whether they are a Just Row or a ranking piece.

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
Dave,
I could have written the same post. Our observations are identical. I did a Just Ride six minute warm up on the BikeErg before 30 minutes on the rowing erg. For the first time my Logbook reports that the 6 mins on the BikeErg are verified. Strange?

None of my rides are verified. I wonder if you have to calibrate before in order to have it be "official"?

The RowErg is continuously self-calibrating. It can do that because you are coasting between every stroke.Slothful1 wrote: ↑September 17th, 2020, 2:22 amWhen you do a ranking piece the BikeErg monitor will ask you to check calibration, and you need to go through that process if you want a ranking piece to be verified. This could explain why all RowErg sessions are verified, but not all BikeErg sessions.

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
A random sample selection of my rides suggests that all of them are verified and I have not calibrated my bikeerg in hundreds of thousands of meters.chipman650 wrote: ↑September 18th, 2020, 12:18 amNone of my rides are verified. Most of my workouts are custom, based on distance/time intervals or set distances or times. But, my "ranked" eligible workouts are also all verified, without calibrating the bikeerg.
I have never done a "just ride" workout so no data point for those.
Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
The BikeErg verification code contains a bit to indicate whether the calibration of the BikeErg is accuracte. As mentioned above, unlike the Row and SkiErg, the BikeErg power input does not include regular coasts during which we can recalculate the drag factor.
The BikeErg comes calibrated from the factory, and after every 1 million meters it will prompt you to "confirm" the calibration by pedaling and coasting. If the measured drag factor matches the expected, the calibration is confirmed. If the drag factor falls out of tolerance, then a full calibration is required to re-establish the correct drag factor curve. Think of the 1 million meter reminder as a "check engine" light in the car.
Within that 1 million meter window any Just Ride or Custom workout will automatically be considered verified. However if you set up a standard distance workout (for which there are rankings and world records), the BikeErg will ask you to confirm the calibration. If you decline this option, the workout will NOT be verified (though it can still be ranked). In this case it is not eligible for a world record.

Most likely you need to calibrate the machine.

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
BikeErg has to be calibrated before to get a piece verified. I learned this the painful way.

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
My bikeerg asks to be calibrated almost every time I ride. Its certainly not asking only every million meters like I think was stated in this read...or did I read that wrong.
