Pelaton app

Post by robsonj » June 14th, 2020, 8:04 pm

Hi there,

I’ve owned a c2 rower for 17years, love the product, love the company, they stand behind their products, so I’d like to start using the pelaton app for biking. I don’t wanna buy a pelaton, just not a good value proposition imho, versus quality equipment from c2. That said the pelaton bike of course works the best with pelaton workouts, but I’m wondering if anyone has used the bikeerg with the pelaton app, and how did you like it, how well did it integrate etc? How did you find mapping the damper to the pelaton resistance levels etc?

Thank you,
Jonathan

I've not used the peleton app but from what I've heard it doesn't do everything the app/peleton bike do i.e. leaderboards, best times, studio interaction. I'm sure someone will come along who has tried it but have a look on youtube to see what you can and can't do - it might not be worth the subscription.

Thanks Warnie. Yea I think just cadence and heart rate will register with the app. But I was wondering how the wattage compares given the resistance will not register and also be different. I'm not to fussed about the leaderboard etc, as long as I get a good workout without to much fiddling wit the bike etc.

Most rides with the trainers on peloton are going to give you ranges to be in for your efforts and cadence queues. I would highly recommend finding your zones through an FTP test and calibrating their effort queues accordingly. Most people on peloton are going to have different ranges anyway. Best thing to do is go by feel and make sure you have a solid HRM to understand your efforts. I was wondering more about how people deal with standing on the c2 because I have heard people say its a bit wonky but cant really understand why.

Thanks Einandrew. I found a couple of people with bikeergs over on the peloton digital app Facebook group, they had nothing but praise for it, I’ll ask them about standing
