All,

Wish me luck on the completion of my 1st attempt at a marathon tomorrow. Physically I should be OK, mentally,...who knows?

Thanks,

JC

Good luck. Start slow, drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself entertained. You'll do great. B)

Completed in less than the target of 3:30! Now for a nap....only soreness is in the back and it is minor....I am glad I did it and even more glad its over!

Two weeks after the marathon, I have finally recovered to the levels of training I had prior to the attempt. Interesting that I felt fine the day after and even rowed 11K to flush out the lactates but the following day I was very fatigued.

No real soreness but no power available in the legs. I took more time off but still only recovered as of yesterday, a full 14 days after the row. The next time (if there is one) I will take 3 or 4 days off after the row to recover rather than try to continue the daily stuff I try to do.
