How is it going?
This is my first challenge so I won't be aiming for a pin this time.
100k is a lot more than I have ever done in such short time period so is a challenge alright.
Hoping to lose a bit of weight pre-Christmas.
Currently at 44k so well on my way but my distances are dropping now - losing pace as I get more tired.
Trying to make up my mind whether to forge ahead regardless or take a break.
These distances take a long time when you are rowing at 2:40 plus avg 500m
Not very impressive times I know but good for me being nearly 50 female and short and rehabbing after a knee injury.

As the tortoise said...

Main thing is enjoy the journey...

I am rowing 1 hour per workout now, yesterday I put up just over 14k meters in that hour (14,038)... so far just under 70K for the challenge, I have more than enough workouts planned to be able to exceed the 200K by Christmas.
Once I get past this distance I am moving to speed workouts to get ready for the upcoming races.
This kinds of drill is really good on the technique refinement, as I am finding mine has plenty of ways to go.
Can't wait to add this pin to my collection - NEXT PIN... MARATHON!
Eeee gads! About 18 months ago I was like, "Why would ANYONE want to do this longer than 500K!"

And then there are those who row thousands of miles across the oceans.

Actually I had missed that typo and my response was based on the 1/2 k as such a contrast to the super long blue water stuff.

Yes I misread the typo as 500m too. The brain just tries to make sense of what it sees

Getting some good meters in the seat, there Mike.
I'm thinking the 30k target will be well exceeded.

Thanks, these 1 hour rows are becoming more managable... I had a personal best yesterday (14,103m).
With like 20 days to go i'll have NO PROBLEMS getting over 200K!
This has been an interesting journey.
... off to row my hour this morning!

Not far off completion of my 100k now. It has been tough but only 5 k left later today. My injured knee is doing great and my fitness too but my back is starting to cause me issues so I will be so glad when I am done. Will need to get a video of my technique up but I think I am overreaching - will have to start work on that after some time off
Good luck to everyone continuing onto the 200 k

One thing this challenge has 'taught' me it to understand how my body reacts to rowing distances... what hurts, when it hurts, how I compensate for it.
If you just row your technique will revert back to some bad habits, or possibly expose some new GOOD ones??
Enjoy your journey... I am going for 200K and that coveted pin!
Gimmie that pin!
