Mud Season Madness

Taking part in one of Concept2's individual challenges? This is the place to talk about it.

Mud Season Madness

Post by jsarche » March 2nd, 2023, 1:32 pm

Does anybody know if each RowErg workout for Mud Season Madness has to be a single piece of exactly 5,000 or 10,000 meters? For example, would a 6 x 1,000m workout count toward the challenge? The instructions are unclear whether each workout has to be a single piece of 5K or 10K meters, or whether you just need to hit at least 5K or 10K each day.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that the Mud Season is any combination of pieces that add up to 5k or more (or 10k or more if on that path) per day. That is nearly always the case with all challenges, but I note its not for the Womens day challenge which does actually have to be a 5k piece set up as 5k single distance and rowed without a break and entered into your log.

Thanks - I was leaning toward that conclusion because in the incentives and rewards section of the explanation page, there are a couple of references to "at least 5000" or "at least 10000" meters - but the initial details section doesn't include the same language. I guess I'll just have to experiment because nearly a whole month of identical daily workouts will get really tedious.

Anything equal to or over 5 or 10 k.
Easy to mix up with multiple sets or varying interval workouts.
I did intervals on day 1 of 250, 500, 750, 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000 starting at full drag and dropping the drag factor by around 10 with each subsequent interval. I did follow up with a 2k real-time row
Day2 was a straight 10k followed with another 2k real-time row.
Day 3 will likely be an interval workout of 7 or 8 1500’s.
Day 4 will be on my home C2 and may go full distance in Real-time since my Wi-Fi is more stable than the gym’s
Good Luck!
