Hi,
is it possible to participate at the heptathlon with both bike and rower? I consider to combine one long and one short event on different ergos each day. Would I qualify for both honor boards or only one?

From the website: "Note: In order to qualify for the honorboard, you need to do all seven events on the same type of erg. There will be separate honorboards for each erg. You cannot do, for example, four events on the RowErg and three events on the SkiErg."
The way I read it, you can't combine the different ergs' times on one honor board. If you wanted to use two different ergs, you'd have to do TWO challenges, one on each erg.

Is anyone else having a go at this? I'm back on the forum, after a long absence, due to running (my preferred sport) uninjured. Now I'm injured again... Anyway, gyms are opening in France tomorrow, so I can get back on a C2. Thought this would be a fun way to get back into the swing of things. As I'm focussed on cardio, short and light, my times for the shorter distances are going to be unimpressive . They're sure to be PB's though as I've never done them before .

No mate, this is a sure way of me getting injured, ill or both. Thought I would try this. Dangerscouse gives a warning. I am being careful with those shorter distance events. Big warm up. Ridiculous amounts of stretches. In startup, have many tiny pulls instead of that big ole yank.
PS. I don't know how to have the system automatically update my times in boxes below. JUST UPDATED FOR PB'S. SOME ARE 5 YEARS AGO. ONE IS THIS MORNING.

I think I'm going to try this using a BikeErg, back isn't strong enough for the Rower unfortunately.
Guessing if you try one of the events twice, your best result is the one posted?

Good points, as ever. Clearly you can't get 7 PB's, or close, in seven days if you've already got high intensity marks. Completed all 7 events yesterday
Mainly as UT2 to AT and with a strict max 155bpm HR (mainly as I am awaiting tests for HR issues)
25k+ in total over the 2.5hrs session. Gave me something to do that wasn't just straight UT2

As you are coming back from a long absence it will be a good way to get used to a variety of distances without any expectations

I'm giving this challenge a go. It's a great mix of events which don't really favor any one type of rower. My times are mediocre across the board so this variety plays right in my wheelhouse.
Did the 6k as a warmup for the 1k and 1 mile yesterday. Actually a good workout for me. Today will be the 10k followed by the 1 minute. Quite a warmup!

Did the last one this morning, 6k. Most very slowly, starting the longer ones well below 120W to be sure of getting to the end at first go. Turns out that's the best system, since a full warm-up takes about 15 minutes.Is anyone else having a go at this?
It's what its name says: a challenge, like getting to the top of a hill. No hurry, and no prize, except the view.

I'm doing these, one per day in order. Got a 10k PB yesterday which I was pleased with. Treating the 20 min today as a recovery row, maybe rate capped at 22 or something. Nice to have a bit of variety.

Late response, but yes, I'm taking a go at both. I'll finish the Skierg tomorrow, and only the 10k left for the rower. I'm super impressed with the logbook and it scoring events right. Talk about motivating to get all the events complete.
Now, perhaps I can do both because I'm not as fast as a lot of the folks doing either, so I turtle along and get my events done.
So far the biggest issue is soreness in my elbows and traps that I'm treating with a massage gun. Oh, and foot pain that seems to have gone away by going barefoot on the skierg. Interestingly, the sprints have been harder on me as I really try to do those.
The best part of the process is the challenge has introduced me to new distances that I haven't tried. That 1 minute skierg. So good for 45 seconds... so bad for the last 15. I will get that corrected.
