Hello, TimbukTOO!

Post by barbbesal » February 3rd, 2008, 9:46 pm

Hi, everyone! I'm excited about rowing with you all for the remainder of the season! Some of you guys are real workhorses, so I know I've got my work cut out for me to contribute to this team! My goal is 100K per month... for now. When I hit that in February, then I'll trust myself to set my sights a little higher.

Pat, thanks so much for leading us through the January Challenge, and double thanks for setting up this boat! I look forward to stepping up to the special challenges with the Timbuk2 crew! Best of luck with the rest of your season!

Enjoy the Super Bowl!

Hey guys! I too have joined TIMBUKTOO! I had a great time during the January Challenge. Like Barb above, my goal is usually 100K/month. I did 111K in January. I try to row 4 days/week, but during the challenge, I did 5 days/week, which proved to me that I can do it in spite of my busy schedule. I'm doing my first erg competition this Sunday- it's the Erg Armageddon at Bucknell. Since I'm entered in the master's division, my race distance is only 1000 m. My previous best time was 4:02.7, but I rowed a 1000m piece yesterday in 3:56.8! I'm psyched! Thanks for all the motivation from my wonderful Timbuk2 teammates! I've been training hard and it's paying off! You guys rock! B) Pat, your posts are incredible- they are so frequent and so fun to read- thanks so much for all your efforts!

That's awesome, Cindy! Congrats on your new PR, and good luck at your race!! I'm glad I know 100k is do-able this month! I got in another 5k tonight; although I wasn't that motivated, I'm glad I sucked it up and did it. It's fun to row while watching American Gladiators :) Gets you in the fitness mood...

What do you all row to?

Go TIMBUKTOO!

I have a flat screen TV on my gym wall directly in front of my rower. So it depends on what time of day I row.I am a TV Land "nut" so many times it is an oldie but goodie TV show.Saturdays it is Fit TV.I had a very harrowing day today..no row:-(.Sorry team.Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Pat -

Zachary is my 12 year old son. He saw me rowing every day that I was home during our Jan challenge. He wants to start rowing so we signed him up. I hope that this was OK? I don't think he will put up any monster numbers but he is having fun!

I want to thank you for you leadership and encouragement last month. When i joined I was hoping to do 100K - my best month was less than 70K but I did 200K in Jan I don't think I could have done it without the encouragement - so thanks and happy rowing!

Marvin!!
That is great.I am happy to know that your son is interested in rowing.I didn't recognize the name and didn't want the new addition to go unnoticed.Tell him WELCOME and to enjoy the ride.He can do challenges with us too....he doesn't have to set any records..just join in the fun.Now "my" mystery is solved.Thank you!!
Have a great day!!!
