Hello Everyone,
This is a good idea to have our own forum. For the Jan. Challenge last year I rowed just over 800k/meters and sustained an overuse injury that took most of 2007 to recover from. My goal this year is to finish the challenge healthy.
Pat summed it up well in a recent email:
"Go at your own pace..enjoy the spirit of the ride and go to the distances that challenges you the most in your individual goals for health, fitness or simply a personal reason to row."
I plan on a zero day tomorrow, December 31st.
Enjoy the ride. Happy New Year!

New year greetings from Chris G in the GMT zone (but not in the summer)
Don't forget to warm up and down and stretch, repeat stretch. Let's all go at our own pace and enjoy the challenge and the companionship. This message was intended for TIMBUK2 only but some how I started a new topic! Oh well! Win some, lose some!!

Pat
I am Bob Storck I started indoor rowing on a Model A in the mid-80's. Now own a C but am thinking of purchasing an E because it is getting harder every year to get back up off of the erg. I have found it to be an excellent piece of fitness equipment and a good compliment to biking and weight training for my old knees.
I am a civil engineer and have spent most of my career on large construction projects. Plan to retire from full-time engineering and work in a bike shop or woodworking shop in the near future. Possibly in a warmer climate.
Thank you for making me personally feel welcome in the boat.
Don and Shirley good to see you aboard. Shirley the meters you have been posting are providing motivation to me since I have recently started rowing consistently again after about a 3 month layoff. Don it is great to see that you are continuing to row.
Since the TIMBUK2 is based out of FL would you please send warm weather to Denver. I am already tired of the snow and cold. The White Christmas was nice. Snow shoveling does keep the holiday weight off of the old body.
Thanks again and a very Blessed and Healthy New Year to all.

I will keep up what I can. But I will be helping some friends get their boat through the Panama Canal. If I could figure out how to do it on a Concept2, I would be glad to do it: but, I haven't solved the problem yet.
