[quote]That sounds like a great idea!
Have you ever considered creating a "proper" team, and joining the Cross Team Challenge (CTC)?
You would also appear as a team on the annual University/Club standings

That sounds awesome nobody at C2 had even heard of CTC. I am starting a university/ Club team under the name MOTO Madmen and Women.
As far as my personal feeling about quads. I was a little kid when I tried my first quad and put my foot down and wrecked my leg. I have only been on one since and it was in Mexico with my wife on the back. I have always heard half the wheels = Twice the rider! (That did not come from me!) We have a couple of pro quad guys that use our rowers for training.

What's all that white stuff?
I don't know, but shoveling it, makes for good cross training.

It's an old CZ radial head, 73 or 74 I think. It was free but won't turn over so I tucked it away until I can open it up and see if I can make it run again. I have the complete frame, front and rear suspension/swingarm and the coffin tank. Maybe I can make it look like this someday. :)

I had a Suzuki 300 King Quad for hunting and plowing. It was fun even just to putt around to see what you could climb or what you could travers in 4WD. I gave it to my uncle a few years ago because I hardly used it. I do like 4 wheels however, but only in the full-size stuff. I do have a few serious off-road trucks, but my first love is dirtbiking. Hell of a lot cheaper than building trucks and faster too! :P

Speaking of 4 wheels and dirt. I just got off the phone with one of the guys from Vermont Sports car. They make the Rally cars for Travis Pastrana. I guess Travis was telling them how good the rower was and He wants one. We may have our first Rally guy on our team.

I just can't stand the small paths and trails converted into "4-lane motorways" cause of the quads.

I had a go on a Banshee on the Sahara dunes end enjoyed it very much, though! :D

Ah but around here it makes for an interesting ride on those "two-tracks".

It allows us to get inside each other and overtake when we pick up the pace. :D

Plus it kinda keeps the small branches from whipping at you all the time.

I invited both Travis and his dad to be on the team. Travis's dad is HARD CORE . He is in better shape than most of my 20 year old riding buddies.
There is some great genetics.

Then why aren't they here? Or are Ron Goodwin and John Steffen aliases? Or maybe they are waiting to post there totals at the end of the challenge?

LOL. As the only contestant, I would win every time! :D

The sad truth is that there is hardly much local racing here other than 80/125/250 MX. No vintage racing up here and with 4 inches of rear suspension travel, I don't think my back would last a lap on the local MX track on one of these CZs!

I would love nothing more than to show up on an old Elsinore or something like that and teach those young 'uns a lesson. Unfortunately, even on my CR250 a few years ago I couldn't hang with the non-training chain-smoking teens on the track for more than a couple laps before my hands and arms would take a nap. Also, having to get up for work on Monday sometimes precludes me from attempting those huge doubles so I'm not the fastest on an MX track. :P

You could move to civilization. You know, someplace like Iowa, where we have vintage MX racing and off road racing. You don't have any hare scrambles or enduros around there?

We don't have much for public land to ride on, but we do have tons of racing around.
