Also upped my 7-stroke average a few points to 372W (from 369W). Average watts over the 500m was 370W or 99% of my 7-stroke average.
Greg, you need to add Steve's time to the 500 meter challenge rankings. that puts him in 35th!

I just got an email from PITFIT in Indy IL and there Indy car racers want to be involved with the 500m challenge and It was weird I also got a call from the Andretti racing team and they were asking questions. I think they are all watching the challenge. The Moto team is becoming famous. The real amazing thing is I got a call from a guy that is a professional MMA fighter and he said he does a 1:17 500m. Wow that is hast and he can kick me but. Needless to say I was real polite!

7 Weeks out now from rotator cuff surgery and I think this rower has played a key role in my recovery and range of movement. My doctor can't believe how quick I've bounced back at 48 years old.

I guess the Marathon would be next :?:

Congrats on the 1/2 Wayne! You must be in pretty good shape.
I think that's a pretty good time for only being that far into your recovery. Yeah, they are boring, but watching movies helps.

My best recorded time is 1:52:32.5, which is 2nd to worst time in my age group. I think I can shave some time off of that if I do enough interval training & weight training, though. I can't really use age as an excuse, since the fastest guy in my age group is my age & does the 1/2 in 1:15:33.3.

I am a little surprised, but I understand. Most of my 1/2s didn't start out as 1/2s but as Just Rows that went over 21,097 meters. Longest I've rowed at one time is around 26k, so next I'll shoot for 30k & then attempt an actual marathon. I'd like to get the marathon in this month, though.

It's really tough watching everyone else pile on the meters & myself falling back, but we have some great competitors here. Go Team MotoMadmen and Women!

That would be SECOND place in the overall Concept 2 rankings. I'm only 1553 places behind him. But hey, I'm .1 of a second faster than some 81 year old guy in CO.

I need video proof of that before I believe it. Like 2whlrcr said, that would put him second overall. Not saying he didn't do it because those guys are anaerobic beasts but I think that kind of time needs video evidence.

I am thinking that he must have seen the split for the last stroke and not the true 500m time.

I don't know Greg. When I start off on a 500m tear, I get down into the 1:12/500m range but by the time I'm done it's in the high 1:30s. It averages out to low 130s. If his last split was 1:17, that is pretty amazing.

I'm not going to dispute his claim but I'd still like to see it!

It's really tough watching myself slip down in the standings now that I am back at work. There is no way I could hang with Brian Kent but I was second overall a few times. I just don't have the hours to spare anymore.
