Interferon & Ribavirin: Hep C Therapy

Post by SkipChurch » September 22nd, 2009, 12:04 pm

I'm three months into therapy for Hepatitis C, which involves 6 x 200mg pills a day of ribavirin and a weekly 180ul shot of pegalyted interferon alfa. It has all kinds of pretty strong side-effects, one of which is fatigue. I've kept up my rowing pretty well though I added a rest day each week, on one of the days after the weekly injection.

I'm able to keep the volume at >10K per day, but the splits are pretty lousy.

I wonder if anyone else has rowed through this kind of treatment. I've had Hep C since 1984, but so far asymptomatic.

I'm too compulsive to quit and my doc says to crank on as much as I can.

I must say it is a good test of will power, because some days I sure don't feel like doing much of anything.
