Update on my Knee Injury

Hello - I ruptured the quadriceps tendon in my left knee on Sept 12, 2008. I posted a few questions for folks on the forum about rowing again when I got the brace off my leg.

UPDATE I got the brace off this past Monday and I got back on the rower. My 'range of motion' limits the stroke on the catch to about 1/2 to 3/4 of the stroke. However, I'm sure as I gain full motion in my left knee I will be back up to a good level.

So thanks for the words of encouragement in my previous posts! I look forward to getting up to good level of exercise once again!

Tough injury dude, my advice is to make sure you can squat all the way down in weight bearing eventually. I strongly suggest a tool calleled the TRX (fitnessanywhere.com) to help you do this safely.

Neil - Thanks for info on the TRX trainer. I took a look at it. My physical therapist has some similar elastic straps on the wall that patients use to gain strenght and range of motion.

Thanks again! Marvin
