Hamstrings

Post by jkalmes » August 31st, 2008, 6:02 pm

Hi All: I'm new to rowing but in decent shape, have been cycling 40 to 60 miles per week and play racquetball a couple times a week. Since I started rowing my hamstrings seem very tight, is this normal, I feel like I need to stretch them out constantly. I've only started out slow, 2000k the first few times and then a 3000k and now a 6000k. Does this happen to everyone?

You're probably using your hamstrings more than you have been, which is good but takes some getting used to.

Doing leg loosening exercises, and running both seem to help me quite a bit as to helping my hamstrings to relax.

I'll stretch them out and see how it goes, l like the rowing, seems like a good way to get into shape for ski season!
