Exercises to compliment the erg

I've read that rowing uses most of the muscles in one's body, which is terrific, but what exercises can I add to get the rest of the muscles? I've had problems in the past with not keeping the opposing muscle groups strong. I'm guessing push-ups and pull-downs (or chin-ups) and planks (or crunches). What else?

[EDIT] - Oops just found http://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=13884 over in Cross-Training.

Deadlift is really good too. You don't have to use a lot of weight, just make sure you have correct form.

The exercise will workout every muscle group in the body. It's said that it is the most complete exercise. But research some YouTube videos first so you know how to do it properly.

I'd recommend not doing another hip opening movement with rowing. Rather, do something that involves the closing of the hip, or a pressing movement - push-ups work fantastic. This is why the skierg is such a great partner to the rower.

A copie of the rowing motion. Usefull for sprinters, but not untrained muscle.

Pushing movements, chest/shoulders/triceps. Those muscle you do not use on the erg.
