In the thread from the link below you will find John Rupp has made several posting where he has used the quote feature of this forum to attribute postings to others that have in fact not been made. This has been going on for quite some time, however the misrepresentations are getting much worse.

What is even more sad is this is typically done to those in the forum who contribute the most useful information about erging in general.

I would appreciate having the offending posts removed. If there is a way to control John Rupp in this forum that would be much appreciated as well. I believe a poll would indicate the forum would be much improved by his postings being eliminated.

I vote for letting Rupp and everyone else post whatever the hell they like.
People can figure it out for themselves (like you did), they don't need a nanny.

If J Rupp were banned, he'd likely just come back with a different name.

What could help - perhaps - is if everyone else would cease to respond to him. Then the topics could run sanely for a bit longer (before degenerating into name-calling and tedious elite squabbles over how fast Peter Pullhard stroked in the 1999 Creme de Foam race . . .)

The forum needs the 'ignore' feature back again. It worked fine for me when it was available. Back then I expect some super-jocks didn't like my homesy-folksy stuff and screened me out.

I understand the extra programming time that C2 will have to invest if they add 'ignore' to this more secure forum, however software update and security hassles are part of the deal when someone is a forum it guy.

I spend a lot of my web management time on security for my clients. And I provide them with good service. C2 is going through some growing pains, however the forum is an important part of their business. They need to make it a friendly place for all of us, and give us the tools to screen the posts if we want to without having to install another browser.

I use Firefox for most things, with the exception of one or two web sites that are screwed up and only allow use of IE.

It is no problem to use both browsers.

Sometimes I have both browsers on at the same time, i.e. am using Firefox, click IE on to check something then click it back off.

It is no big deal. You don't have to just use one or the other.

Please don't ban!

I agree with letting all people say what they want (within the bounds of decency). Part of the fun of a forum is seeing some people continually making fools of themselves and relishing in it rather than learning from it.

My PC has a PgDn button on the keyboard which is pretty efficient.
