Paul, you may want to repost this in "Health and Fitness" sub-forum - it will surely get more attention there than here in the "Oars" sub-forum.
Good luck with your hip.

I appreciate the suggestion to repost in the Health and Fitness sub-forum. I’m just trying to gather as much info as I can about the recovery process. Hopefully, I can connect with others who have had the same experience.

Never come across this (left healthcare 35 years ago so a positive dinosaur). As someone with arthritis with relatives who are awaiting joint replacements, very interested. Is this an alternative to a hip replacement? How long is it expected to last? (One issue is that an artificial hip only has an expected life of 20 years so many active people defer the replacement to minimise the expected issues when it is wearing out).

I had mine done on the NHS, though apparently thats not common. I know Birmingham has a good reputation. I'm told the best candidates are males, U65 and active healthy. Resurface means you keep your hip joint, they change the shape of the head slightly, but no substantial segements of bone are lost. Benefits are much more stability and the ability to do what you want to do. I expect my hip to last 20 years it's made of robust and modern materials. Women have a greater risk -

In Month 7 and the range of movement seems good according to physio. Strength returning. Some small issues with soft tissue impingement in the groin, but that will work itself out.
