Hi
I am and have been a frequent user of concept rowing machines since 1989 mostly on my work and in various gyms. In the last years I have intensified my training and have a growing need to analyze my training. I started using logcard "sad to say I first discovered this possibility 5 months ago" and then I discovered Concept 2 IConnect cable for Iphone combined with the app ErgData. This is very fine but now I also want to include heart rate monitoring via Ergdata. Anybody who can give me a hint to how this is achieved. ErgData should be able to link Bluetooth Smart Heartrate Belts. I am considering buying a Garmin Phenix 3 HR with a extra chest belt. Will that be able to do the trick.
Heart rate monitoring contemplations
Re: Heart rate monitoring contemplations
not with an iphone - no.
the garmin fenix 3 hr is ant+ - i believe this is only supported by sony / samsung and maybe a few others at present.
you might want to go for a hybrid chest strap (ant+/BLE - tickr-x), or get the fenix 5 (which supports BLE - yeh wow!!!)
BLE will connect to the iphone with no probs.
not sure ergdata works with ant+ so you would have to connect the strap to the PM then broadcast the data via the iphone cable to ergdata...
love the garmin fenix - it just doesnt play with the iphone :/
