I started rowing in january and i like it very much, i am still improving but when i am doing longer distances like the
10 k, half marathon my upper back legs are burning like hell at the end, is this normal or is it just a question of technique?
By the way , i am doing 7'17" 2k and 18'58" 5 k , is that ok, 45 years 84 kg?

As long as it's a muscle burn and not a tingling/shooting/nerve type pain you're all good. You want the burn in your legs not back/arms.

Sounds like a build up of lactic acid, if you try doing some high intensity interval training this should increase your tolerance levels and also improve your marathon times.
