Tail Bone trauma

Post by Atorrante » July 6th, 2012, 11:56 am

Hi. A week ago i slip going down stairs and land on my buttock, and have coccyx pain that won't let me row for now. :( Yesterday bought a neck pillow to use it with the open part backward as a seat to try to row and not loose my rowing condition. Any other advice, or if someone has recover from a similar trauma, how long it may take? Thanks.

I suggest you buy a seat pad from concept2 and cut away the area around your coccyx. I think the neck pillow would be too squishy.

I'll give the pillow a try, but as you stated it appear to be too squishy. It has a zipper where one can take out some of the inner material, and this may help. Thanks for your suggest. I only hope not to have a tail bone fracture, so I can recover with a couple of weeks rest.

Definitely the neck pillow is not the best seat to row. I try everything from the neck pillow, an air neck pillow with almost any air, a towel and anything work. I have to wait for the pain to go away, and by the symptoms this may take a month or more, hopefuly. Then I have to hit the road more with my bike and my running shoes, and maybe some weight training at a gym. Hope to be back by next september or so...

I'm back. After exactly a month, today did a 5K with almost no pain. My splits went from 1:54.3 in june 29 to 1:56.7 today, but I should recover the speed in a couple of weeks or so.
