I'm going to see a specialist soon but wonder if any folks here have experience with it and how it affects or is affected by rowing, weightlifting, cycling and other activities.
Jeez I had a spontaneously collapsed lung a few months ago, now this. Do we just start falling apart around age 50?
Don't know....but have some questions about my right arm.
I strained it a month ago and it feels like it has a nerve pinched in it I strained it pulling a #60 compound bow and holding it too long to adjust the sights.
Can't do much as far as weights training or even swimming. Arm even throbs or has a dull pain when doing nothing or sleeping.
Is that how your arm is? I wonder if my arm trouble stems from some other problem like you mentioned?
As far as falling apart. Yes, as we age we decompose. It sucks but it is nature's way. Best we can do is do the footwork top slow it down. Nutrition and exercise is the king and queen of good health.
I used to be very active in various sport areas for someone my age but slacked off due to money and time. And I've gone down hill in short order.
I bought my rower cause my arm is screwed up as well as my hip so can't do much with traditional jogging or even an upper body bike. But rower works out great.
These are areas I aspire to train in. Although time, $$ and energy constraints don't always allow me to get em all in. But having the right formula is half the battle.
Weight / strength training
Aerobics
Nutrition
Balance training
Yoga / flexibility training
Cold training
Mind training
Mind relaxation / meditation (zazen)
Speed training
Height / altitude training
Centrifugal training
Jump / Height / Plyometrics training
Breath Holding training
Ambidextrous training
Hip is feeling better and will be jogging soon. I have been using a rebounder instead of jogging or even walking. Lots of benefits to them.

One other thing. Salt raised hell with my joints. The lower the salt the better I seem to do.
