I had hip labral tears removed 16 months ago.I have early stage arthritis of the joint.Because of the nature of the injury, the large part, posteriorly of the labrum was removed.Max hip flexion is limited to 90 degrees in everything I am to do.Doc recommends that I should stop rowing.I just got on my erg not too long ago and so far I am doing ok.
The tears also caused Piriformis Syndrome. The surgery fixed that problem real quick.
Anyone out there in the same situation? I really want to know if I keep up on the erg, will I find myself in deep trouble down the line?
What say you.

Hi, I have advanced arthritis of my right hip joint which have greatly reduced the flexibility of my hip. I've been rowing for almost 2 months now. Its been great. I think it has actually improved my flexibility. I would get a second opinion on rowing and your hip. You posted about not going past 90 degree, I dont think I can come close to that...lol.
Good luck!
