Tight Ankles

Post by paul s » September 10th, 2006, 9:41 am

I am developing a tightness around both ankles. It feels like there is a band around them running from the upper front to the lower rear. It doesn't matter how loose my shoes are the feeling is always there. Has anyone encountered this before? It does not hinder my walking, at least as of yet.

Try stretching every day, preferably a couple times a day, should help.

As someone who has had one reconstructive ankle surgery and will probably need to get another soon I can't stress the importance of a good orthopedist. If it persists check with a doc, if nothing else he will set you up with a good physical therapist that can direct you in the correct way to stretch and strengthen your ankles.

I recently has something similar... swollen band around the ankle, but mine felt sprained or kinked. It turns out I have a bone spur. Sometimes it bothers me..sometimes not.
