ive been aware for a while that not all is right in my head just need to get it sorted somehow

Welcome and well done got getting on in the first place.
If there is one thing i would advise when being on here/other rowing forums/Facebook groups, is to resist the temptation to compare yourself with other posters.
Mostly people post their successes and not their failures, we all have those days.
It is not always immediately obvious whether the poster is 25, has a seat in the Oxford crew, or whether they're 50 plus and a lifelong athlete posting remarkable times.
If you want to compare, then id recommend uploading your data to the Concept2 logbook and then you can look at your stuff and see where you've come from, at least at the start.
Others have given sage advice, there is no rush, just keep at it and i am sure you wil improve, you maybe even get to enjoy the whole erging thing, weird i know, but it happens to many of us.

How is it going now? I hope you are continuing even if you are just doing very short sessions. When I started out, I would do a little bit, then walk around the block or up and down the stairs, then do a bit more. I really like to do drills especially pause drills when I am tired, actually I like to do drills as part of the warm up every time, but also when I'm tired, for example, if I've been ill, or if I'm trying to work out a little longer but am out of breath. Warm up for a while, watch one of the videos about pause drills, follow along with that just focusing on the movement but without expending too much energy, then row for a few minutes.

I woke up yesterday with a rotten cold so did not row. I'm not feeling better today and so will keep this reply short. I also am having an RA flare up. But I won't give up because I know a stronger body has kept me off RA drugs this far. will keep you guys posted on my progress ? I thank you so much !
