Problem developed 5 years ago in my arms it feels like i had golfers elbow i row throw it but ime getting slower ( if i invert my hands and row upside palms up i can go better
Ive been told by Dr ive gor ulnar nearve impingement at the elbow quite bad on the right. She knows i row but dismissed it Ime having a release soon as my small and ring fingers are going numb ( ulnar nerve)
I can row still but has anybody else had this problem where rowing is possibly effecting the ulner nerve where it passes throw the elbow

Hi Simon, I've never had the issue, but I think it's quite common and the remedy (I believe) is to do twisting actions with your hands ie wringing out a towel.

If it is golfers elbow, you can do a search and find loads of remedies so it shouldn't be too difficult to resolve it, BUT I'm not a medical expert in any way so don't rely on my very novice advice.

That could be a clue. We often see cocked wrists and flying elbows in ergers, which cannot fail to cause problems. Palms up completely avoids both and maybe a tight grip too.

So suggest you protect yourself by using a style where 90% of the work is done by the legs in the first half of the stroke, with no attempt at a strong finish with the arms.

ThKs !
I row every day and my drag is set 138
But find my stroke is at best 115-20 but falls to 105 when getting tired
My son who has only been rowing 1yr can pull at 125 hes at the same drag fac
But rowes a bit slower and can now beat me at 5 k hes only 16 !
What causes bad arms in palms down pls
