Swollen "delicate" parts.
Swollen "delicate" parts.
Hello, I hope everyone is doing great!
I've been rowing for a couple of weeks, but the past 4 days my testes have been getting swollen. Is there anything wrong with the seat of my fit? In past years I trained crossfit and I was in the rower almost on daily basis and this never ever happened to me. I'm kinda worried because I just bought my concept 2. Any tips and recommendations besides using compression shorts? I always use running nike shorts, they are really tight.

Re: Swollen "delicate" parts.
I used to use old, worn-out cycling shorts, which seem to keep "things" in place and out of trouble, but lately I've switched to "real" rowing shorts, which also work for me, although they typically aren't as tight as my cycling shorts.
One possible source that I've used successfully in the past (there are plenty of other options, including the C2 site store)

I've never had an issue, so maybe take some time off and see if it is the rower that's the issue or if it is coincidence.
You don't want to ignore a warning sign thinking that it's due to the rower

I’d be inclined to take some medical advice, just to be safe.
Is it only after rowing that you’re swollen?

Might be helpful if you could post a pic ;-/

That falls under the "Too Much Information" tab.

If you set "safe search" off there's plenty enough out there on the dark side of Google already. We don't need photographic evidence, we need the OP to seek orchidal attention from a qualified medic.
https://orchid-cancer.org.uk/ has some self-help advice.
Re: Swollen "delicate" parts.
Another over-weight geriatric mate of mate told me he had trouble with his "man-bits" aching. One look at his technique showed the reason. He was rowing with his legs outside his arms to facilitate his belly getting further forward.
He changed his style and the problem was solved.
(No - they didn't fall off!")

I am no "specialist", but the first thing which comes to mind is your form and body dimensions, particularly your height. I had been rowing for years on C2's at the gym. What I recently discovered, by watching a tone of videos on YouTube®, was that my form was not the best. I agree with whomever posted about wearing proper athletic clothing as well. Also, have you thought of what might have changed from one week to the next when you noticed this? This seems to usually be a "cause & effect" thing, in my opinion.agpantoja wrote: ↑January 11th, 2021, 9:18 pmHello, I hope everyone is doing great!

Best of luck in resolving this.

Think you need to be wearing proper under wear. Mine chafed early doors. This stopped after time , best to support them with underwear and hoick them out the way. Get them checked though.agpantoja wrote: ↑January 11th, 2021, 9:18 pmHello, I hope everyone is doing great!

This! Always a jock under my compression bottoms. Best way to keep the boys slung up & out of the way. I'm not a believer in those shorts with sewn-in panties.
