Weight loss so far
Hi
I started started dieting in July on the 1st. I weighted 21 stone and 6 pounds, and by the 2nd of August I weighed in at 19 stone and 11 pounds. I am 6'7ft tall.
I have been rowing 5 times a week, doing a mixture of distances, such as 5k, 8k, 10k and high-intensity interval training while eating around 1500 calories a day.
How am I doing?

1.5 stones weight loss in one month is great progress.
Try and enjoy the process of rowing, rather than seeing it as a means to an end

Putting it in units this Yank can savvy, 300 lbs to 277 lbs. Is that correct? If it is, woww!! One concern though. Find some method to monitor fat to lean weight ratio. You want to lose fat but retain as much muscle as you can. A quick & dirty way to monitor you progress is by weekly taking your waist measurement. Any decrease here would be totally fat loss. All the best to you.

Re: Weight loss so far
That is correct there's 14 lbs in a UK stone.
It's always puzzled me that you Leftpondians use things like hundredweight (cwt) but not stones (st). Although the US cwt is 100lb (with 20cwt in a short ton). The UK (Imperial) one is 112lb (8 stones) in a cwt and 20 cwt in a (long) ton (2240lb).
I use ISO units so it's 136.1Kg down to 125.6Kg which is equally impressive.
The decimal metric system is so much easier. I was lucky I was taught both.

You are doing brilliantly. Do you have a target weight? As a big unit, somewhere between 16-18st wouldn't be unreasonable, but obviously that depends on whether you're built like a rugby player or a high jumper.Beeg_Uncle wrote: ↑August 6th, 2020, 6:35 pmHi

You won't be able to lose weight at this rate for much longer, nor should you try. 1500cal per day is a bit on the low side, particularly as you're so tall. Perhaps looking to lose 2lb/week would be a more sustainable target, and increasing the calories so that you're only in 500 cal deficit per day could be a way to go.

We used it all the time when I worked for IBM. You're the Leftpondians, we're the Rightpondians.
I've also got "Outer Pomgolia" for Perth Western Australia (because there's so many ex-pat Brits out there).
WDNNS was a commonly used abbreviation among the techies in IBM as well. It's from the Mexicans in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948).

Also, a more succinct version was on that great Western film parody, Blazing Saddles.
