Have you seen how much demand there is for home fitness equipment?

Post by Gammmmo » April 6th, 2020, 11:58 am

If it's anything like the amount barbell plates, bars, benches etc are going for on ebay then the answer is ALOT!!!
Obvs people working out at home now corona has hit...and high street shops being closed.

Yeah it's ridiculous, people are really taking advantage of those in need right now. Really thankful I made the investment on a home gym a few years ago.

I could do with a couple of extra 20/25kg plates though! But not at that current rates

C2's are selling for 25% higher for used ones.

The wife was nice enough to get me some nice 50lb adjustable dumbbells for X-mas last year. With those, the rower, an Assault bike, some heavy KBs and a few other items (plyo box and heavy ropes), I'm pretty set up. I never liked gyms.

I only wish I had a landmine setup but would be hard to find right now. Also want an endless rope machine as well.

Just remembered I have 2 barbells I don't use (rated lower than the 150kg rated one I now use) and some dumbell bars I could flog.....

£££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

It's getting crazy. On ebay someone advertised 2x20kg iron plates for £400!! I paid about £55 for mine last year. Of course it doesn't mean to say someone will pay that but still....

It's like any deemed essentials at the moment.

There are twonks asking 60 quid for a can of ambrosia rice and 100 quid for a regular size bottle of handwash.

Glad I built up my home gym over the years. Model C erg, Skierg, treadmill, elliptical (never used, given by my neighbor) bike and stationary trainer, 70lb set of powerblock dumbbells, and a 5' bar and around 100lbs of weights. :D

I never did like going to a gym. It always felt like an inconvenience.

Me either. I work from home and was only going on Sunday to get out of the house. The wife and I just purchased a LateralX machine this week. Now we have the rower, an Assault Bike (AD Pro), the LateralX (my cardio weapons), new Hybrid/comfort bikes (Tucson is near tops in the US for year round biking), adjustable dumbbells, heavy ropes, heavy KBs and a Plyo Box. I've been working to find a Power Tower, but there is no one that has them right now. I guess I could make my own pullup bar, but it's not worth it to me. I'd also like to eventually get a Landmine setup and an Endless rope machine (Aliexpress has some reasonably priced for the ERM, which will be the only I'll miss at that gym).

If I want to go old-school, I have a pile of boulders in my backyard too (landscaping boulders all over). Wouldn't mind a truck tire as well.

There's a tire shop in a neighboring town that will put their old junk tires outside - one tire at a time - with a sign that says "free exercise tire." They're never out there long. I love that they only put one tire out at a time (supply and demand, baby) and they never have to pay the NYS tire disposal fee.
Did you know that if you hold a crab up to your ear, you can hear what it's like to be attacked by a crab up close?

That is brilliant.
