I've tore my rotator cuff 3 times and did PT myself all three times. One time was pretty bad. Three things helped tremendously (aside from what's mentioned) that are unique is a BodyBlade (used by tons of PTs out there), "hanging therapy" -- I used the two hand cable lat pull at the gym (with gradually heavier weights) to gently pull my arms up to totally straight (this is a fantastic therapy) -- and last is something called Scapula Pushups. Basically get into a plank position and let your body "sink" into your shoulders and then push out and round your back so that you're pushing your body up as far as possible. It's like that cat stretch but you are just moving your body slightly in a full pushup/plank position. It's hard to describe but look up Scapula Pushups and you should find it.

This is a commercial packaged exercise program.
It is very similar to the PT i received for various shoulder issues.

Yes the BodyBlade is excellent. It builds stability back into the muscles, very important.

So the bodyblade really is a thing? I mean no offense, ut at first look it looked like a typical tvshop product, like the countless abbdoer stuff. I might look into it if it's actually good, i would really like to strengthen my shoulder as it way to offend causes me issues and pain

I fractured my shoulder December 2015. Tried the body blade at PT and hated it. My therapy involved many of the exercises recommended by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), linked on the previous page and I still do six of them three times a week, just to keep my shoulders strong.

Actually gradually getting much better the last few weeks. Very slowly getting back to rowing, did 2k, then 3k a couple of days later. Did 5k yesterday and will do another 5k tomorrow. Hopefully pain free still, and back to rowing for full again i a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed!
