Could you provide a brand or trade name for your electrolyte mix, please.

Jack - sure. I used mostly BulkSupplements for mine (for the magnesium, potassium and the calcium). For the salt, I used the store brand "Real Salt", which has some natural electrolytes in it. I added (and this was the most expensive part and probably the least important) dehydrated coconut water as the base, which I got from Nuts.com. I think I got the calcium orotate and the citrate version of the other two.jackarabit wrote:Could you provide a brand or trade name for your electrolyte mix, please.

Re: Ideas for an Electrolyte Powder
Thanks for replying, Mike. I was curious about the ident of the ready mix product mentioned by Doug. I have a thread going under "Training" which queried if a trace mineral (electrolyte) recovery drink might be useful in energizing lazy or unexplosive leg muscles (blocked legs). The recovery drink I was thinking about trying was "sole," pink salt in water solution. I have tried it and found it very unpleasant to ingest in a teaspoon per 8 oz. water concentration. New Age fad/scam probably. I have returned to Concentrace, 10" drops to 20 oz water bottle. Seems to help get the kegs kicking. Might be poacebo effect.

Re: Ideas for an Electrolyte Powder
I put together for you atomic and molecular weights of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium as well as molecuar weights of supplementary compounds.
Recall that _potassium_ is the dangerous one: if you take too much you can destablilize your heart rhythm. Moreover potassium is abundant in foods so you might go easy on that one.
_Atomic weights_:
Calcium: 40
Magnesium: 24
Potassium: 39
Sodium: 23
_Molecular weight (Gram/mol)_:
Magnesium orotate: 334 (7% magnesium)
Magnesium citrate: 214 (11% magnesium)
Calcium orotate: 350 (11% calcium)
Calcium citrate: 498 (8% calcium)
Potassium Cloride: 75 (52% potassium, dangerous!)
Potassium Iodide: 166 (25% potassium)
Potassium citrate: 306 (13% potassium)
Sodium Chloride: 58 (40% sodium)
